July 24, 2006: In May 2006, the American Diabetes Association publicly urged the United States Senate to lift restrictions on stem cell research, and to pass the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2005. It had been stalled in the Senate for over a year, despite strong bi-partisan support.

The bill is no longer stalled. This past Tuesday, the bill was passed by a 67-37 vote, again, with strong support from both parties. The next day, President George W. Bush vetoed the bill.

In the first ever veto issued by the President, after 5½ years in office, embryonic stem cell researchers and patients living with myriad diseases and debilitating conditions were disappointed in their quest for better federal funding for research.

Hours after the veto was issued, the House of Representatives convened to hold a vote to override. They fell 51 votes short of the 286 required to override the veto.

Surrounding himself with adopted babies born from frozen embryos, Bush announced his veto of the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act from the East Room of the White House. “These boys and girls are not spare parts,” he said. “They remind us of that is lost when embryos are destroyed in the name of research.”

“This bill would support the taking of innocent human life in the hope of finding medical benefits for others,” said President Bush.

Advocates for the bill ranging from patients and researchers to politicians on both sides of the political fence cried “foul,” Republican California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and former first lady Nancy Reagan among them, both of whom urged the president to reconsider his position.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the day after the veto, Governor Schwarzenegger authorized $150 million in loans to California’s stem cell agency, a move that quadrupled the amount of money the agency had previously had access to for their embryonic stem cell research.

Nationally, however, the sting has been deeply felt by those invested in embryonic stem cell research and the potential outcomes of better funding for it. “We're just profoundly disappointed with the president's decision,” said pathologist Leo Furcht of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, president of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology. “The fact that legitimate prospects are there for treating terrible diseases with these cells makes it very troubling.” (USA Today: July 20, 2006)

In a 2005 survey of 2,200 people conducted by the Genetics and Public Policy Center, 67% of people polled responded that they “approved” or “strongly approved” of embryonic stem cell research, according to USA Today.

President Bush remained unmoved by public and political support for the issue. “It crosses a moral boundary that our decent society needs to respect,” said the President. “So, I vetoed it.”

Today I am going to explain how to use internet for researching a paper. There are a lot of platforms on which you can research about whatever you want like Google, and Yahoo etc. I will prefer Google because it has bunch of staff for any single article. You can't select Wikipedia for research because it is not creditable. So now choose a topic lets say Target Marketing and I will tell you how to give the references for this topic.

First you need to open a web page and give the address www.google.com and write the name of the article Target Market. It will show a bunch of results about this. Just click on any link and start reading. Here is definition of target marketing. According to Susan Ward (2008) "Target Marketing involves breaking a market into segments and then concentrating your marketing efforts on one or a few key segments". This definition is of Susan Ward. It is updated in 2008. This is an example of citation in body.

Start the research for target by population, families, genders, occupations, educations, etc. this is demographic information. Now you will need geographic information like are people like to spend most time out door? What is the weather? Are these people conservative with their money? These kinds of researches will help to find target (Allbusiness, 2008). This is an example of online source. The name of website is all business. And it is updated in 2008.

Market research tell us price is not most important factor customers look at repair service, warranty, performance, and brand name etc. That means price is not enough to think about. A lot of other factors need concentration (Deana, 2007). This is an example of book article reference. The author's name is Deana. It is written in 2007. And the whole reference is listed below.

Mass market retailer is a newspaper which has article of target marketing. They say that before starting any business target the market is one of the important steps. This newspaper is committed to provide the researched informational (MMR, 2008). This is an example of newspaper article. It is published in 2008.

What is Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome?

Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome (SDS), first described in 1964, is a rare, genetic (autosomal recessive), multi-systemic disorder affecting the pancreas, bone marrow, and skeleton. The most common symptoms are pancreatic dysfunction (malabsorption), low neutrophil count and short stature. Other organs may also be involved in some SDS patients. Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome affects people differently and not all people with SDS have all of these symptoms. In Infancy, the first symptoms are usually loose, foul smelling, greasy stools and failure to gain weight and grow normally. The pancreas fails to produce the enzymes essential to digest food properly. Because of the exocrine pancreatic dysfunction (malabsorption), the child does not absorb enough nutrients, most commonly the fat-soluble vitamins, to grow and develop normally. Oral enzyme replacement therapy helps these children to digest their food, but many still need to take special vitamin supplements. Improving nutritional status does not necessarily improve the growth of children with Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome.

The bone marrow, where blood cells are produced, is also affected in Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome. White blood cells, which fight infection, are most commonly affected. Neutropenia is the most common hematological abnormality in SDS, though all blood cell lines may be affected. Anemia and blood clotting problems are also common in SDS patients. Because of the bone marrow dysfunction, these children are at a greater risk of developing life-threatening infections. Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome is considered to be a bone marrow failure syndrome, because up to 30% of these children will develop leukemia or aplastic anemia.

Debt relief consolidation

Friday, February 5, 2010 by sabye , under , , ,

If you have to much debt then there are options that are available to you so that you can pay off your debt and get your life back on track. It seems easier than ever to get new credit cards because they seem to constantly send new credit card offers. It is important to control your debt because if you let it get out of hand you can have major problems. If you get into a bad financial situation you need to look into debt relief consolidation.

If you have credit cards that you are over your head on to pay them late or not pay them at all will cause some problems. You will suffer by having negative marks on your credit score so it is always a good idea to pay your bills on time. If you stop paying them altogether you will get harassing phone calls from the lenders you have cards with. Not only will they call you but they will also ruin your credit rating and this usually takes 5-7 years to correct.

If you have too much debt you need to get a debt relief consolidation loan that can help you combine all of your debt into one debt. The advantages are that you will be able to get a lower interest rate on this type of loan. Also it will be much easier to handle because you will only have to pay one payment every month.

Remember that you want to get a debt relief consolidation loan and you can get a professional to help you achieve this.

The truth about the Christian Credit Card Consolidation

by sabye , under , ,

With the cost of everything looking set to rise for the next few years, more and more Christians are finding it a strain to keep control of their personal finances. In the past many have turned to HELOCs to help refinance but these do not represent a long term solution and indeed have become increasingly unavailable due to falling house prices and the credit crunch.

For this reason there is an increasing demand for credit card consolidation services but by and large I have little faith in these. The problem with any form of consolidation is that it feeds the debt monster if one doesn't commit to changing the way money is treated.

As I once read money is not for spending it is for managing and a good Christian Debt Consolidation counselor will show you how to manage money so that you never have to worry about debt again.

Now that's fine and dandy but if you can't see a light at the end of the debt tunnel my writing that last paragraph isn't going to help. So whilst I don't like credit card consolidation it does have a place in the market.

In essence consolidation of credit cards means rolling up the debts on your existing cards and using a balance transfer mechanism switch them over to a new credit card offering a better deal. Note I said a better deal. Oftentimes we fail to check out the headline offers in sufficient detail and we end up worse off than before if we're not careful.

Always remind yourself of the truth here. The credit card industry doesn't want you to pay off your outstanding balance each and every month because if you did they wouldn't make any money. Effectively they are preying on our lack of financial management skills and taking a slice of what we cant afford to pay in the first place.

So are there good deals out there? Of course but they require considerable research to identify and most of us just don't have the drive to look beyond the headline rates. This has lead me to the conclusion that if we don't want to check the fine print we shouldn't attempt credit card consolidation. Why, well lets check some of the pitfalls shall we.

Have you heard of the "universal default rule". This little beauty means that if you are more than 30 days late on any payment the interest rate on your credit card can shoot up and your credit score damaged. And guess what? Many companies are applying this rule on a daily basis. The lesson? Make sure any new card doesn't apply this draconian rule.

What about fees? Sure the headline rate looks attractive but you can incur a balance transfer fee - 3% of your debt not being untypical. Then there are late fees, over the limit fees and other costs that can be associated with the card.

If you aren't prepared to do the research your best bet is probably to call your existing card companies explain you've found some better deals and ask if there is anything they can do to match them.

For more information please visit the Christian Debt Consolidation Guide. This is an information only website providing independent and unbiased views. We do not provide Christian Debt Consolidation Services just a good education.

So when should we consider credit card consolidation? Only as part of a large Christian debt consolidation solution. The fact is that most of us try unsuccessfully to create our own solutions and we can believe that this offer is right for us. In truth, there are multiple strands to successful debt reduction and debt management and even Christian Debt Consolidation carries plenty of pitfalls for the unwary. Even a not for profit organization has to make money!

Consolidation should only be considered as part of a wide Christian debt consolidation counseling service. Find a Christian debt consolidation counselor that cares about you and can help. Don't accept the first offer that catches your eye, shop around. Get a feel for the different offerings and see if what they say makes sense to you. Ask questions. How much does the service cost. Do they show you how to avoid getting into money troubles again and repeating the sins of the past.

Finding the right Christian debt Consolidation of services to strengthen their faith and put money in your wallet. It may not be easy, but I believe in God and the will to you through the evils of debt, which will come out the stronger side.

DIY debt consolidation plan

by sabye , under

One of the most asked question when it come to debt is "what is the best way to get out of debt?" Well, it definitely have something to do with drafting a bailout plan and stick to it (read: work). Certainly, if there's anyway you can 'cover' high interest rate loans with lower ones, do take the plunge. Even when the amount is not much (considering the bad credit standing you have), you'll save quite a bit from the switch.

Anyway, the proper way of dealing with debts is to come to terms on how much you actually owe. Ask anyone in debt about the amount they owe and you'll find that most people rather not think about it. Sadly, that does not change the fact that the debt will continue to snowball unless you DO something. List out all your debts, like this:

Credit card 1: $3550 (37% interest - paying only minimum payment)
Credit card 2: $1720 (37% interest - paying only minimum payment)
Credit card 3: $800 (18% interest - current)
Personal loan: $23,750 (6.9% interest - two months overdue)
Car loan: $18,300 (6.5% interest - current)

Now you have a clearer picture of how much you owe, even though the very thought of it make you cringe. Next, decide how much you have left over every month after deducting basic expenses. It should look like something like this:

Salary: $3500
Rent: $900
Car: $400
Food $600
Petrol $400

So that's a $1,200 leftover from what you're making after deducting expenses. You'll see that with such limited amount in your hand, there has to be a careful selection as to what gets paid first. Obviously, getting out of credit card debt is of the highest priority especially if you can only managed to pay minimum payment (credit card 1 & 2).

You'll want to renegotiate your personal and car loan deal to stretch over a longer period of time with lower repayment every month to keep up. Assuming, after three months, you have successfully eliminate all the debts in credit card 2, while continue to pay minimum payment on card 1 and barely getting by with the rest of the debt. Here's two things you need to do. Firstly, don't start spending on card 2 again, thinking that it's safe to do so now. Secondly, continue with paying $1,200 towards the next highest interest debt - card 1. Do not reduce the payback amount thinking that you have one less item to pay for. Don't ever get too comfortable, give yourself a reward, or throw a celebration whatsoever - crawling out of debt takes patience and endurance

Even when you are done paying credit card 1 and 3, continue to pay $1,200 each month towards personal loan and your car loan to be debt-free in the fastest time. Since you are are used to living without the money, you'll barely miss it. Of course, after payment of debt, continue to invest to accumulate so that you will never be in debt again.

Do not always take the plan to consolidate debts to pay debts, if you have the courage and determination to do so. The work plan for each, with a huge amount of debt until you have accumulated new debt.
